Overall, this year I would give my self 85%.
For attendance I would give myself 20% because I always come to class on time. Sometimes I am late to class because I have to talk to my teacher about something important, then I quickly have to go to my locker to get my food and text book. If I were to be late to class, the bell usually rings by the time I am coming up the main stairs. I am usually on task in class, but lately I tend to get distracted very easily and "might" disturb others from doing there work. I think I may have had too much candy leaving me to get very hyper in class, which causes me to not shut up. But the positive side to this is that I do help others in class that need help with their work or who need a starting sentence. I can control myself at times and stop all the nonsense, I don't constantly check my Ipod for messages or snapchats because Gayle usually has my Ipod so she can do her work and get caught up. I only use my Ipod when we need it tweet or to do our blogs. I hate the HP laptops, they suck! I am always positive in class and ready to learn new things as well as ready to make fun of my friends in class. I love to be part of our class discussions and see what others think and hear their opinions about the topic we are talking about.
For assignment completion I would give myself 25% because I always have my assignments done before hand and I finished all 15 tasks. I love to write a lot because I have so many ideas and thoughts I want to share in my writing. So much goes through my mind that I have to let it out. I try my best to fix my writing by reading what my peers commented below. But I need to try harder because yesterday Mr. Neufeld told me to add more to my soliloquy, which I did for, "the sun", part but I didn't understand what he meant for writing if people are all good or bad. I understand why he wouldn't comment it but I should of noted it down on my Ipod.
For quality of assignments I would give myself 20% because everyday is a day that I can improve on. Lately, I try to write professionally on my work and expand my vocabulary. Which is improving a lot and I mean A LOT. I would say I have done my best work but that doesn't stop me from making it better. As I mentioned before, there is always more room to improve. I put my full efforts in all my assignments but every time I it over and over again I do noticed some areas in my writing where I can do better and put more effort in. For instance, I sometimes don't explain things well enough and leave it sort and brief. I noticed I like to explain things in depth. Everyone has there own writing styles, some like to write a lot like me and some like to write less. My work can be improved by taking the comments seriously and fixing my work. I can improve by fixing my grammar mistakes, being more detailed and go more in depth, connecting, etc.
For class contribution I would give myself 20%. My presence in class has improved others learning because I like to participate in class and share my thoughts and opinions. For example, when we were analysing the poem, "To a Stranger", I participated in class by searching up personal information of the author and sharing it with the class. Whenever I finish my assignment I always go comment on my class mates work that' s why I am known as the few kids that names always pop up in the comments. I remember when we first made our personal blogs and I didn't embed my video properly so I learnt how to do it with Mr. Neufeld's help. Which later, I was able to help my fellow class mates how to embed a picture and video. When one of my class mates don't understand something in class I try my complete best to help them out, but sometimes I can't help everyone because I may not understand it and need help myself. "I like the idea but maybe re-read your story and use different words other like "enjoy". I think this comment was helpful because after that post, that person did a very good job on their next assignment. They didn't repeat the same word over and over again and there was a fair amount of grammar mistakes. But most importantly, I could see the improvement and it was awesome. Just their recent post was detailed and well written. I am very proud of this person, keep up the good work!
I believe that you are one of the key contributes of comments in our class but if you could work on the quality of your assignments, i think you could become stronger in this class.
ReplyDeleteI checked your other work and your work quality is actually pretty good. I think your underestimating the quality of your work. You can improve in grammar and punctuation, but other then that I would have given you at least 19-22%
ReplyDeleteIt might help if you ate less candy
ReplyDeleteyour puncuation could be a bit better
ReplyDelete- god bless
you are really good at commenting and the quality of your work but maybe on some class days you should try and work harder in class.
ReplyDeletei liked how you said you hated the HP laptops but right after you said you're positive in class.. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am positive in class but I meant I don't like to use them because I rather not face the technical difficulties and get my assignment done.
DeleteI also agree with the comments above you conribute to the class very well, you always give your thoughts and comment on peoples blogs, great job!!! Maybe try to get your work done a bit more in class:)
ReplyDeleteI think you should deserve a higher percentage. Also I think you should give yourself 25% for the contribution because you comment on everyones blogs
ReplyDeletei think you undersold yourself on your quality of work. id give a solid 20%

ReplyDeleteI disagree with the mark you gave yourself. You are always contributing to this class and giving back nice feedback to your classmates. I like how you always go beyond of what your supposed to do and I also like how you go in depth when you write your blogspots.
ReplyDeleteI think the quality of your work deserves more than 20% because all of your assignments are lengthy and decently written. You should give an example of a post you did that shows evidence for what you wrote. But yeah, you are distracted a lot when we have to work on our blogs
ReplyDeletei think you deserve 90% because you have a comment on every single blog post and finish your work to the best of your ability
ReplyDeleteFor quality of work, I think you should give yourself at least 20% or more because you always put a lot of detail in your work. You are always willing to help others and you participate in every class discussion. You go beyond the expectations for every assignment, and then comment helpful things on everyone else's blogs.
ReplyDeleteIf you only give yourself 20 percent for class contribution the rest of the class (including me) should be around 15 percent for class contribution. I actually think you are a perfect 25%. Your assignments are actually really detailed, you should give yourself a higher mark. I would say around 93 percent.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sam that you should get 20% or more because you contribute to everything and give your best effort in everything we do and all your work, for example your midterm and other blog posts you write way more and in detail which differs you from everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the mark you chose but i think you should pay abit more attention in class
ReplyDeleteGreat comment thread. High five. I hope you are taking these to heart. It is great to help others and be the confident contributor but clearly your "days off" in class are being noticed too. I think your self assessment is great, but I agree your contributions on line have been great. I also love the fact that you actually go back and fix stuff when people make suggestions. No more playing the grade game... what do you really think you deserve?
ReplyDeleteI don't play the grade game, I honesty just thought, "what should I give myself out of 25", leading me to give myself 85% which I thought I deserve. I don't know what to give myself, you can :)
ReplyDeleteI gave myself 80% first so I boosted my mark to 85%.
DeleteI like it... added them up and that's what they came to so you put it in. I will bump you one more percent but want you think about the difference between understanding/accepting who you are... and excusing yourself from growth because of it. I still struggle with slowing down, concentrating, and getting stuff done around other people. Keep up your great work on line, keep smiling and talking in class... just be honest with yourself in those moments when you're not your best. We all have things we can improve, yours and mine are pretty similar. :)
